Resistivity Survey - Application in Archaeology

  • Investigated property: conductivity of the soil.
  • Method: Mapping of the resistance of the soil using four-probe arrays.
  • Instrumentation: Resistance Meter RM15+Multiplexer MPX15+Probe Array PA5, Geoscan Research, Bradford, UK.

The procedure suggested for resisitivity survey consists of the mapping of different arrays with a multiple-probe-array using data from several penetration depths to receive a threedimensional view of the underground of the archaeological site (down to ca. 1.5 m).

Lateral resolution: minimum 0.5 x 0.5 m.
